Yes, for insurance purposes, the instructor will be sat next to you all day. Their job is just to make sure you are driving with the right technique and making sure you are achieving the maximum out of each session. All of our instructors are qualified and hand chosen for the type of car & experience.

Do I need a helmet?

Helmets are required for all participants during the driving experience. A helmet will be provided to you to use at no additional cost. Unfortunately due to safety protocol, you may not use your own.

What Prior Experience Do I Need?

None! The experiences are almost always open to anyone. There will be restrictions to most experiences – in our experience, guests that weigh over 125kg and are 6ft5” or taller, may be uncomfortable.

Can I drive without a licence?

Some experiences offer driving opportunities without licences. In general, if the event takes place on a UK regulated racing circuit such as Silverstone, you will have to be a minimum age of 16 and hold either a race or road licence. If the event takes place at a non-regulated race circuit, such as an airfield, you won’t need a driving licence and can be as young as 10 years. Some of our partners’ require the participant to be a minimum of 17 years of age with a valid driving licence. Please check the experience details before booking, or contact us if you’re unsure.

Do I need to know how to drive a manual car?

Most experiences offer cars with automatic options or paddle shift. Some Driving Experiences we offer, you will have to know how to change gears manually. Please check with us before booking.

Are the cars insured?

Yes, but there is a £5,000 damage excess that is payable by the driver if any damage is caused whilst they are behind the wheel. You can cover yourself against this excess payment with an optional £25 damage waiver (available in extras or on the day). This is a non-refundable payment. If you do not decide to take the damage waiver, we do have to take credit/debit card details on arrival. These details are destroyed at the end of an event if no damage is caused and no charges will be made. Please ensure you bring a credit card on the day if you are opting out of the damage waiver. This must be a card with a minimum £5000 limit. Please note our payment systems do not accept American Express. Please note that there will be other drivers out on track at the same time as you.

Can I bring guests?

Most venues will allow spectators as long as they are from the same household and kept to a minimum however some venues are more strict so please double check with us before your event date.

What should I wear?

Sport casual is ideal. The pedals on some of the cars are close together, so open-toed shoes (such as flip-flops and heels) are not permitted. When you arrive, we will provide a helmet for you at no additional cost.

Can I upgrade my experience?

Yes, please contact us with your requirements. Please note that if your voucher includes a high speed passenger ride, this does not need to be pre-booked and will be added to your booking on the day itself. Most experiences will allow you to upgrade on the day as well.

Do experiences run in the rain or bad weather?

Yes, most experience partners run their events in all weathers unless it is deemed so extreme that is unsafe to be on track.

Do I have to drive fast?

Not at all, the instructors in the cars will help you enjoy the drive however you would like to.

How fast can I go?

As fast as you like! The expert racing instructors will help show you the fastest, safest way around the circuits. It is worth noting though that some of these cars are 50 years old and cannot be driven in the same manner as modern super cars. Please note that a lot of the venues are airfields and cars have to be driven to the track capability as well as the cars capability. There will be multiple cars out on track at the same time.

What happens if I damage the car?

The chances of damaging a car should be very low, in any condition. However, there is an inherent risk in any motorsport activity and we ask participants to be aware of these risks and take appropriate measures to maintain their own safety, by adhering to the conditions and following the instructors guidance. Should damage be caused to a vehicle as a result of a participants driving, participants accept to paying excess costs required to make good the damage.. There is usually, but not always, an optional damage waiver available for experiences, this can be paid on the day of the event before the participant begins their session. This waives the liability to pay for accidental damage caused to vehicles during an experience, so long as the health & safety guidelines and instructor guidance has been followed.

Refund policy?

Once a voucher has been used or date booked, a cash refund will not be available. Direct vouchers are non-refundable. In the event of a car or event becoming unavailable due to no fault of the customer then a suitable replacement or date will be offered (this could be due to local Coronavirus restrictions, weather, minimum number of participants not met or a mechanical issue). Customers are free to change the date of their experience, no later than 7 days before the event booked; after this an admin fee of £29.00 per experience will be charged. Please note our office is closed at the weekend so please take this into consideration.

What if I have a query or problem on the day?

If you do have any problems or issues on the day of your event, this MUST be addressed and brought up with a senior member of staff at the venue before you leave your event. Our experience partners will be more than happy to help in any way possible. Once you have left the event there is nothing that can be done.What currency do you accept?

Are dogs allowed at the venues?

Aside from guide dogs, all experiences have a strict no dogs’ policy at the venues.

How many other drivers will there be at my experience?

The number of other participants in your session can vary depending on which experience you are attending. There will often be other participants driving on other kinds of experiences from drifting to stunt-driving.
